David Trubridge's 2018 visit to Australia has come to an end. It was fantastic to catch up with David and his team and we look forward to seeing them again soon. Here's a quick recap of the highlights of the past week.

Meet the Maker Event @ Mondoluce Melbourne

On Wednesday evening we held a public event at our South Yarra showroom to welcome David and his team to Melbourne, and to provide a space for David to meet with members of the local design and architecture community. It was a wonderful night of wine and conversation, and we enjoyed hearing about David's latest projects in design inspiration. A special thanks to everyone who came along despite the gloomy Melbourne weather!

Denfair 2018

DENFAIR 2018 kicked off Thursday morning and ran for the next three days. We helped David and his team with their installation which came together wonderfully. On display were the Navicula pendants, along with the new Maru pendant and wall sconces. We were proud to be involved with the David Trubridge installation and are always excited to share David's unique and beautiful collection with the Australian design community.

Maru is the newest luminaire concept from the David Trubridge studio. Announced earlier this year, Maru is made from 60 identical components that clip together to create an elliptical form. Maru casts an intricate network of shadows, creating an enchanting pattern of light. The name Maru is found in both New Zealand Maori and Japanese languages, with references to the cycle of life. Maru will be available for sale in two sizes from early 2019.
